After we and the individual departments review your respective applications, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will invite around 150 candidates (growing to 200 in future years) to come to Stanford University, at our expense, for a multi-day visit.
See Yourself at Stanford
We expect to host Immersion Weekend February 9-11, 2019. You must attend this event if you wish to be selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. Why? We want to get to know you better. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will cover your reasonable travel expenses.
By meeting you in person, you can convey attributes that may not come across through the online application. We also want you to have the opportunity to learn more about Stanford, both your home department and the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program.
Be Yourself at Stanford
As part of your visit, you should expect to participate in individual and group exercises, as well as a number of activities. A few of these elements will be evaluative. If that makes you feel a bit scared or intimidated, take a breath. This experience is intended to be fun, informal, and informative. Our goal is for the Immersion Weekend to give you a great "feel" for being a student at Stanford. Your visit will be a highlight of the year for the entire Knight-Hennessy Scholars family, and we are confident that it will be a highpoint of the process for you, too. Events may include:
- Campus tour
- Department visit
- Group exercise
- Individual interview
- Social events
