Key Dates in Timeline for 2019 Entry
The timeline for selection as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar is earlier (though, unfortunately, not shorter) than the standard admission timeline. Here are the key steps in the Knight-Hennessy Scholar admission process.
May 1, 2018: You can now apply to be a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. Your graduate program's application may not be available until September.
By September 12, 2018: You'll submit your Knight-Hennessy Scholars application by 1:00pm Pacific Time on September 12, 2018. All Stanford graduate program applications will be available by the end of September.
Autumn 2018: You'll apply to the Stanford graduate program that you wish to pursue. Graduate application deadlines vary; check with your home graduate program for more information.
- The MBA Program application is due by the first-round deadline in mid-September, 2018.
- The MD Program is due a couple of weeks before the late-September 2018 deadline, given the AMCAS timeline.
- For all other graduate degree programs, you will need to submit your application with all application materials complete no later than November 14, 2018.
January 16, 2019: We'll notify you that you are either one of up to 150 applicants invited to participate in Immersion Weekend, or that you are not selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
February 9-11, 2019: We'll invite up to 150 finalists to Stanford for Immersion Weekend, at our expense. Immersion Weekend offers a comprehensive preview of life as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and allows Stanford the opportunity to learn more about you.
Mid-February 2019: We notify the Immersion Weekend participants whether or not you are selected as one of up to 75 Knight-Hennessy Scholars in the 2019 cohort. (If you are selected as a scholar, then your department also would notify you of your admission to the graduate degree program.)
September 2019: You’ll enroll at Stanford as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
