Overview of Knight-Hennessy Scholars
Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) is a multidisciplinary, multicultural graduate scholarship program. Each Knight-Hennessy scholar receives up to three years of financial support to pursue graduate studies at Stanford while participating in engaging experiences that prepare scholars to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world. KHS selects up to 100 graduate students from across Stanford’s seven graduate schools each year, helping prepare scholars for leadership roles in academia, industry, government, nonprofits, and the community at large. See the 2025 cohort highlights.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars is the largest fully-endowed, university-wide graduate fellowship in the world. Citizens of any country may apply. KHS applicants must have earned their first undergraduate degree within the last seven years, and must apply to both a Stanford graduate program and to Knight-Hennessy Scholars.
