We are now accepting applications for our pioneer cohort of Knight-Hennessy Scholars. To enroll in September 2018, you must apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program by 1:00pm (Pacific Time) on September 27, 2017, and also apply separately to the specific Stanford graduate degree program that you wish to pursue.
Key Dates and Deadlines for 2018 Entry
The below dates are fluid and subject to change, but here’s our best guess at the process and timeline for becoming a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University.
Spring 2017: we defined the application requirements and provided contact information for campus contacts.
Autumn 2017: you'll submit your Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program application by September 27, 2017. All Stanford department applications will be available/open by this point, as well.
Autumn 2017: you'll apply to the Stanford graduate school program that you wish to pursue. Graduate application deadlines vary, but to be considered for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program, you will need to have all application materials complete no later than November 15, 2017, with two exceptions. The MD Program will have a September 29, 2017 deadline given the AMCAS timeline. The MBA Program likely will have a September 18, 2017 deadline given its use of application rounds. Please check with your home graduate department for more information.
Winter 2018: in mid-December, we’ll select around 100 finalists and invite you to visit Stanford at our expense for Immersion Weekend, likely January 19-21, 2018. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about your department and about Stanford more generally, and also will allow us to get to know you better.
Winter 2018: we’ll select and notify the pioneer class of Knight-Hennessy Scholars in mid-February 2018. Departments also will timely notify applicants selected as Knight-Hennessy Scholars of admission to the departments.
Summer 2018: we’ll bring the pioneer class together for an orientation experience.
Autumn 2018: you’ll enroll at Stanford in your home graduate school program.
