Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) at Stanford University is now accepting applications for its 2026 cohort; the deadline is October 8, 2025. The KHS application invites applicants to make their case for selection by demonstrating independence of thought, purposeful leadership, and a civic mindset. 

Knight-Hennessy Scholars is a multidisciplinary, multicultural graduate fellowship program. Knight-Hennessy scholars receive up to three years of financial support to pursue graduate studies at Stanford while engaging in experiences that prepare them to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world.

Knight-Hennessy scholars span all seven schools at the university and bring a wide array of diverse academic and professional experiences prior to enrolling in their graduate degree program at Stanford. Knight-Hennessy scholars are surrounded by fellow Stanford graduate students solving complex problems from different disciplinary approaches. Scholars gain access to a multicultural, multidisciplinary community, leadership development programming, and a unique global perspective through the King Global Leadership Program.

Knight-Hennessy scholars have lived, studied, and worked in a wide array of communities and cities, colleges and universities, companies and organizations throughout the world. Each cohort includes a breadth of backgrounds, beliefs, lived experiences, and aspirations.
