Patients in Artificial Intelligence Research (PAIR)

Exploring ethical and experiential dimensions of AI-driven research involving human patients.

Two people stand at a table. A third person is leaning toward a table covered with a teal tablecloth, examining materials.

This project examines the evolving role of artificial intelligence in medical research involving human participants. Through interviews and discussions with patients, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers, we aim to understand ethical challenges, informed consent processes, and participant experiences. Our goal is to develop actionable recommendations that ensure future AI research in healthcare remains human-centered, transparent, and ethically grounded.

Knight-Hennessy scholars represent a vast array of cultures, perspectives, and experiences. While we as an organization are committed to elevating their voices, the views expressed are those of the scholars, and not necessarily those of KHS.
