Pipeline to Public Service

Connecting interested youth with opportunities to learn more about and engage in public service at state, local, and federal levels.

Underserved, underrepresented, and rural communities often lack resources, networks, and general support for students relative to other communities across the US, which may limit awareness of and access to opportunities to pursue public service pathways. Governments of all levels ought to reflect the demographics and experiences of the population they govern, serve, and support. This project seeks to explore and develop resources to encourage high school students to explore public service pathways. We will partner with local, state, and federal partners to build this programming. We currently have interested partners in North Carolina, but are eager to expand our outreach and exploration to other states.

Knight-Hennessy scholars represent a vast array of cultures, perspectives, and experiences. While we as an organization are committed to elevating their voices, the views expressed are those of the scholars, and not necessarily those of KHS.
