Abhi Gorle

Abhiram (Abhi) Gorle, from Hyderabad, India, is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Abhi hopes to use insights from information theory, statistics, and communications to build reliable, efficient, and accessible intelligent systems, and to better understand today’s black-box AI models. His research at the intersection of information theory, AI, and communications has been featured in leading venues including the Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems and various IEEE conferences and Royal Society journals. He has led teaching and outreach activities across AI and electrical engineering. He cares deeply about broadening access to technology and education for students faced with systemic barriers to pursuing STEM. Abhi is a recipient of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum-Viterbi Fellowship and is an O. P. Jindal Engineering Management Scholar.
