Abu Rogers

Abu Rogers, from Freetown, Sierra Leone, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine and an MBA at Stanford School of Business. He graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Abu aspires to improve health outcomes in low-income communities in Sierra Leone and other nations through innovative health care delivery, education, and community empowerment. He has conducted research on Ebola, malaria, and COVID-19, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. Abu served as operations manager of Pacific Free Clinic and lead undergraduate coordinator at Columbus Free Clinic. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked with Partners in Health-Sierra Leone and Roots Community Center on equitable vaccination delivery efforts. He has taught classes in Sierra Leone and the United States, and has promoted diversity in medicine through several leadership roles. Abu was a recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award at OSU for his leadership and service.
