Alex Romano

Hailing from Dumfries, Virginia, Alex Romano is pursuing a master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford School of Engineering. At the United States Naval Academy (USNA), he earned a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering. Alex aspires to become a global leader and advocate for international, cooperative technological advancement and socioeconomic freedom. In Annapolis, he was a proud oarsman on the Navy lightweight rowing team. While studying at USNA, Alex conducted research in the field of power beaming, a technology that enables energy to be transferred wirelessly. His work was presented to the Department of Defense (DoD) Space Experiments Review Board, ranking higher than multimillion-dollar projects from across the DoD. He was granted offers to test his work in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Marshall Space Flight Center vacuum chamber testing facilities, in addition to receiving invitations to launch his work to the International Space Station for testing.
