Amanda Morrison, from Helena, Montana, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in public policy and international relations and earned a master’s degree in global affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar. By combining law and filmmaking, Amanda aspires to challenge overconcentration of power and strengthen democratic systems of accountability. She co-produced Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, the Netflix docuseries about the unraveling of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She subsequently led development of documentary and scripted projects at Oscar-winning production company Little Monster Films. Amanda has published articles about Chinese politics in The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and The China Project. Her independent documentary about a prominent Chinese feminist activist will premiere in 2025. She was awarded the Myron T. Herrick Prize for the top senior thesis in the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
