Amy Li

Simei (Amy) Li, originally from Panjin, China, obtained a master’s degree in community health and prevention research from the Stanford School of Medicine and a certificate in innovation and entrepreneurship from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. An immigrant to Canada, she graduated from the University of Calgary with a medical degree (MD) and a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. She is currently a resident physician at the University of Toronto. Amy aspires to improve healthcare delivery through technology. She worked at Verily Life Sciences, an Alphabet company, as a Medical Education Intern followed by becoming a Clinical Program Manager. She held research positions at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and Stanford WELL for Life. She co-founded and was the executive director of Outrun the Stigma, a student-led nonprofit mental health awareness organization in Canada and is now a board member. At Stanford, she was a member of the university triathlon team. Amy received the Canadian Medical Association Young Leader Award, the University of Calgary’s President’s Award for Leadership, the Markin USRP in Health & Wellness Research Grant, the University of Calgary’s PURE research award, and the AIHS research studentship.
