Anjali Gupta, from Cary, North Carolina, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine. As a Robertson scholar at Duke University, she graduated summa cum laude with a self-designed major, “The Interplay Between Health and Educational Outcomes.” Her interests lie at the intersection of health disparities, equity in education, and community engagement. While at Duke, Anjali taught elementary school–age children in rural North Carolina, interned at the Brookings Institution’s Center for Universal Education, and researched racial and socioeconomic cancer disparities. After college, she received the Hart Fellowship to study health care access and cancer epidemiology in The Gambia. Anjali is also the founder of School for a Village, a nonprofit organization that partners with secondary schools in India and Kenya to bridge the gap in science and technology education. She was named a We Are Family Foundation global teen leader and Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge finalist.
