Anna Tovkach, born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, is pursuing a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, focusing on atmosphere and energy, at Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated with honors from the United States Military Academy with a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering. Anna is passionate about understanding how humans affect the natural environment, and how these unavoidable changes can be mitigated. Anna conducted an indoor aerosol dispersion study to model the airflow in classrooms with different HVAC set ups in the COVID environment. She was a captain of the NCAA D1 Track and Field Team, where she broke six school records in the middle distance events and was named the 2021 Patriot League Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. Anna served as Deputy Brigade Commander, acting second in command of the student body and leading initiatives for cadet development in academics, honor, well-being, and athletics.
