
Anvita Gupta

Anvita Gupta, from Scottsdale, Arizona, is pursuing a PhD in computer science at Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated with distinction from Stanford University with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computer science. Anvita aims to leverage advances in artificial intelligence to develop new genetic therapies for patients suffering from complex diseases. At 17 years old, Anvita presented her research in AI and drug discovery to President Barack Obama at the White House. She has been a fellow at Harvard, the Stanford AI Lab, and ETH Zurich, with first-author research cited more than 880 times. Most recently, Anvita founded AINovo Biotech, where she led development of a patented diagnostic for lung cancer. She is passionate about inspiring women in science and founded LITAS for Girls, a global nonprofit that received top five in the Nature Innovating Science Awards. Anvita is a Research Science Institute scholar and an International BioGENEius Challenge winner, and she received the Champions of Science Award from Johnson & Johnson.
