Armin Rezaiean-Asel, from Coquitlam, Canada, is pursuing a master’s degree in management science and engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated with distinction from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. Armin aspires to combat education inequity through emerging technologies, economic research, and public policy. After interning at the Council of Europe, he became a product manager for augmented reality (AR) technology at Microsoft, driving product development for Azure Object Anchors and the HoloLens 2’s Scene Understanding runtime. His products have been used by universities and Fortune 500 companies to build AR learning modules and training guides. He also co-founded Project HELLO (Helping Everyone Located Loved Ones) to reconnect unhoused people with lost loved ones around the world, facilitating more than 1,000 connections. Armin received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, was a Loran Scholar, and was the graduation speaker for his undergraduate convocation.
