Ashraf Sabkha, from Zwara, Libya, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a master’s degree in international policy specializing in energy, natural resources, and the environment at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. He graduated summa cum laude from American University in Cairo with a bachelor's in accounting and double minors in economics and international affairs, as US Department of State Tomorrow's Leaders scholar. He was then awarded the Oxford, St Antony’s scholarship, and went on to receive a master's in public policy from the University of Oxford. Ashraf led teams in start-up and product design competitions with NASA, Pepsico, and Clinton Global Initiative, amongst others, which fueled his interest in entrepreneurship with the aim of using the technology space to strengthen community building and empower structural change. Ashraf’s work on COP 22 with the World Bank Group inspired him to later develop global strategies at an energy conglomerate, and aspire to lead the energy transition and economic diversification process in Libya.
