Austin Taylor

Austin Taylor, from Newport, Maine, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. She graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and English. Austin aims to work at the intersection of emerging science and technology and the law, and she is particularly interested in issues of generative artificial intelligence and copyright as they reflect broader questions about art and authorship. Austin is a writer; her debut novel, Notes on Infinity, will be published in summer 2025 by Celadon Books and Penguin Michael Joseph. She has worked in science policy and science education; written on issues of science and society; and helped young people tell their stories, from college essays to asylum applications, at a small nonprofit. Austin is a Publisher’s Weekly 2025 Writer to Watch, and her novel was named one of Goodreads’ Hottest Debuts of 2025 and a June Indie Next Pick.
