Ayden Case, from Knoxville, Tennessee, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine. He graduated with distinction from Duke University, where he majored in chemistry with a focus on pharmacology. He went on to earn a PhD at the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, conducting a clinical trial investigating a novel immunotherapy for cardiovascular disease. A member of the Lumbee Tribe, Ayden has led clinical research focused on heart health disparities among Native American communities in North Carolina. He aspires to advance cardiovascular medicine as a physician-scientist by developing innovative treatments targeting the immunological drivers of heart attack and stroke while working to reduce disparities in cardiovascular health. Ayden is a recipient of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship.
