Carlota Parés-Morlans, from Castellar del Vallès, Spain, is pursuing a PhD in computer science at Stanford School of Engineering. She earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University and two bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering and networks and telecommunications engineering from La Salle Campus Barcelona Ramon Llull University in Spain. Carlota aspires to develop algorithms that enable intelligent behaviors in robots, empowering them to learn and adapt autonomously from their failures. She envisions a future where robots seamlessly enhance human lives while remaining accessible and beneficial to diverse communities. Her research has been published in respected venues, and she actively promotes STEM education through mentoring programs. Carlota’s graduate studies were supported by a “La Caixa” Foundation fellowship, and she received the Dean’s Graduate Student Advisory Council Exceptional Master’s Student Award for her outstanding contributions.
