Carolyn Bruckmann, from Monterey, California, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in social studies. Carolyn aspires to scale public-private partnerships to reduce economic inequality, with a focus on workforce, housing, and education. While at Bain & Company in New York, Carolyn externed at the Gates Foundation, where she increased investments in primary health care in emerging markets. As a strategy lead at One Acre Fund, she launched initiatives to strengthen land rights in East African farming communities and to improve women’s economic empowerment across Rwanda and Kenya. At Harvard, she played on the varsity women’s lacrosse team and received magna plus honors on her thesis analyzing gender dynamics in dual-earner Boston households. Carolyn is also pursuing a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she is a Thomas Upham Fellow.
