Damian Richardson, from Oak Park, Illinois, is pursuing a JD at Stanford. While a student at Harvard, he was awarded the Alexis de Tocqueville Prize for the social studies thesis of highest distinction. Most recently, Damian was an adviser in the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Climate & Environment, where he advised the co-chair of the Green Climate Fund, the largest multilateral climate fund, and the co-chair of the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group. He also served as special assistant to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, helping to implement economic recovery efforts in the earliest days of the Biden-Harris administration. Before joining Treasury, Damian was a campaign organizer and an elected member of the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s union bargaining team, which delivered one of the first presidential campaign collective bargaining agreements. Damian aspires to continue advancing the transition to a net-zero economy by working at the intersection of finance and the legal system.
