Daniel Whyte

Daniel Olaoluwa Whyte, from Ibadan, Nigeria, is pursuing a PhD in English at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences, where he will be working on African, Afrodiasporic, and transnational literature. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and literary studies, with first class honors, from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. Following his bachelor’s, he won the Trinity Hall Philomathia Scholarship to study for an MPhil in African studies at the University of Cambridge, where he graduated with distinction and received the Bateman Scholarship for academic excellence. Daniel is passionate about literature and media and seeks to use them to promote nuanced perspectives about pressing world issues. Among his past work experiences, he served as a project coordinator at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development. In 2019, the British Council selected Daniel as one of the top hundred young media professionals worldwide.
