Drew Bent, from Palo Alto, California, is pursuing a master’s degree in policy, organization, and leadership studies at Stanford Graduate School of Education. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he earned a bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, and computer science. He aspires to be an education entrepreneur developing new types of K-12 schools and institutions, as well as reforming education policy at the national level. He interned at the American Civil Liberties Union, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Bridgewater Associates, Khan Academy, and Sony Ericsson, and was a consultant at the World Bank. At MIT, he spent time as a researcher in the fields of economics and engineering, and as a features editor and reporter for The Tech newspaper. Through MIT Global Teaching Labs, he taught high school physics in Crema, Italy.
