Erick Rodriguez, from Senath, Missouri, is pursuing a master’s degree in energy science and engineering from Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. The first in his family to serve in the military and attend college, Erick received his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the United States Military Academy. His research has focused on developing safeguards for nuclear reactors in service of nonproliferation efforts. After Stanford, he will serve as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. At West Point, he served as the brigade operations officer, where he was the principal liaison to all 4,400 cadets and helped plan and execute major events. Erick is the recipient of the Thomas Young Award for Outstanding Research in Nuclear Engineering.
