Erika Bullock, from San Francisco, California, is pursuing a PhD in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Policy Studies (SHIPS) higher education program at Stanford Graduate School of Education. At Georgetown University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature. Erika aspires to improve American universities by supporting experiential, holistic, and student-centered educational spaces to help make higher education more accessible, responsive and impactful for undergraduates. Erika worked as a project coordinator and researcher between the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship and the Designing the Future(s) Initiative in Washington, DC. At Georgetown, she was an editor with The Georgetown Voice, the undergraduate representative on the search committee to select a new dean for Georgetown’s College of Arts and Sciences, and a student project associate with the Designing the Future(s) of the University Initiative. In her studies, Erika received the Emilia Ferrara Thesis Award for outstanding thesis in the Georgetown English department, and Georgetown’s Outstanding Senior in English Award.
