Evelyn Wong, from Los Angeles, California, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine, and intends to pursue a PhD in bioengineering at the Medical School and Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University with a major in neuroscience and a minor in Spanish literature. Evelyn received the Herchel Smith Fellowship for her thesis project at the MIT McGovern Institute, developing a next-generation protein sequencing platform. As a Marshall scholar, she earned an MPhil from the Division of Medicine at University College London, where she optimized existing neurotechnologies to understand cortical brain function. Evelyn aspires to merge her interests in asylee health and neuroengineering to tackle both technical and structural barriers to psychiatric health. In 2020, she founded CovEducation, a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the academic achievement gap that has reached over 200,000 individuals worldwide. Evelyn has been recognized by the Clinton Foundation for her work on educational equity.
