Gabriel Conejo Gallegos was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and raised in Sacramento, California. He is pursuing a master’s degree in policy, organization, and leadership studies at Stanford Graduate School of Education. Gabriel earned a bachelor’s degree in history and ethnic studies with a focus on bilingual education from California State University, Sacramento, graduating summa cum laude. He aspires to pursue a PhD in education and a career in higher education, focusing on dismantling systemic barriers for undocumented and underserved students. Gabriel served as the assistant program coordinator at El Centro Serna, where he supported Latine student success. As executive vice president of Associated Students Inc., he led major equity initiatives, including scholarship reform and advocacy for undocumented students. His research advances asset-based approaches in education. He is a recipient of the Graduate Equity Fellowship, First-Generation Student Achievement Award, and a California State Assembly Certificate of Recognition.
