Gordon Ye

Gordon Ye, from Danville, California, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine, where he intends to pursue a PhD in biomedical data science. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a specialization in biomedical computation. He then earned an MPhil in biological science at the University of Cambridge and Wellcome Sanger Institute, where he studied human placental mutations and their contribution to pregnancy complications. Gordon aspires to help develop accessible clinical tools that improve how healthcare providers screen for, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders. While at UC San Diego, he led efforts to improve student access to and awareness of on- and off-campus mental health resources using technology, while his research focused on the biological, social, and environmental aspects of depression, suicide, and alcohol use disorders. Gordon is a recipient of the Churchill Scholarship and Goldwater Scholarship.
