Hannah Thomas

Hannah Thomas, from Midland, Canada, is pursuing a PhD in health policy at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and Stanford School of Medicine. She is a urology resident at the University of Toronto. Hannah earned an honors bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Andrews and a master’s in global health from UCSF, and completed medical school at the University of Edinburgh. Hannah has published extensively on key issues related to global surgical care. She was recognized as one of Top 10 New Voices in Global Health at the World Health Summit, and received the Urology Care Foundation Humanitarian Grant. A budding surgeon-investigator, she will focus her doctorate on researching effective policies and economic frameworks for national surgical care planning in low- and middle-income countries. As a board member for the Society of Women in Urology, Hannah devotes time to mentoring other women to pursue urology.
