Haolie Jiang

2024 Cohort

Haolie Jiang, from Singapore, is pursuing a master’s degree in international policy at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. He graduated with first class honors from Yale-NUS College with a bachelor’s degree in global affairs. Building on his civil society and academic experience, Haolie aspires to amplify his work on human rights, migration studies, and democratic development in the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked in government relations and strategic advisory at Edelman Global Advisory, specializing in labor protections and sustainability in Southeast Asia. Haolie also co-founded and leads the Community for Advocacy and Political Education, Singapore’s first independent youth-led democracy-building organization aimed at civic literacy and capacity building. He also leads and supports research advocacy on migrant labor rights in Singapore with Transient Workers Count Too. Haolie received the Yale-NUS Outstanding Capstone Award for his undergraduate thesis on elite identity politics of Sinicization in Singapore.
