Izzy Aguiar

Izzy Aguiar, from Golden, Colorado, is pursuing a PhD in computational and mathematical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated magna cum laude from the Colorado School of Mines with a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and statistics, and earned a master’s degree in computer science at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is passionate about effective communication in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to increase diversity and community within the disciplines. Izzy understands the significance of a hug, a giggle, and a good chocolate chip cookie. She believes that meaningful kindness towards others will change the world and that there is nothing more important that humanity.
