2018 Cohort, Graduate

Seattle, Washington, United States

Jani Adcock, from Seattle, Washington, is pursuing a PhD in computational and mathematical engineering at the Stanford School of Engineering. She received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a minor in computer science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Jani researches methods to design and control energy systems, such as wind farms and the electricity grid, to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. She has worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory developing wind farm models, at Navigant Consulting assessing electricity grid design and control, at Tesla Motors improving electric vehicle reliability, and at Natel Energy designing a novel hydropower system. While at MIT, she also connected her classmates with fulfilling careers leading the student-run Fall Career Fair and the Society of Women Engineers' career development program.
