Jenny Jiao, from Columbus, Ohio, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. She graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Jenny aspires to become a civil rights lawyer, focusing on rectifying the impact of algorithmic bias on marginalized communities. She has conducted research on the effects of predictive policing and racially biased data for Duke Law School and Department of Economics and volunteered as a guardian ad litem for the North Carolina Family Court system. She interned at the Ohio House of Representatives, Legal Aid Society of DC, and the New York Attorney General's Civil Rights Bureau. As president of the Duke Debating Society, she and her partner won the 2019 National Debate Championship.
