Jierui Fang

Jierui Fang, from Plano, Texas, is pursuing a master’s degree in design impact at the Stanford School of Engineering and an MA in public policy at the School of Humanities and Sciences. She earned a bachelor’s degree in art and design from MIT with minors in computer science and biomedical engineering. Jierui aspires to create change through interdisciplinary design with system-based products and experiences, specifically in the fields of healthcare, sustainability, and experiential art. She has conducted research on medical maker technologies and experimented with biomaterial fabrication at MIT, designed solutions for refugees as part of startup and as a fellow at USCIS, and led an augmented reality mural project with international collaborators. Since graduation, she’s worked as a design strategist at Tidepool on an automated insulin delivery system which was recently submitted to the FDA. She has had her work exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and by the Cooper Hewitt at the Gates Discovery Center.
