Jimin Kang, from Seoul, South Korea, is pursuing a PhD in comparative literature at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Spanish and Portuguese and minors in journalism, creative writing, environmental studies, and Latin American studies. As a Princeton Sachs scholar, she received a master of studies in comparative literature and critical translation and a master of science in nature, society and environmental governance from the University of Oxford. She plans to combine her interests by investigating the Anthropocene in fiction and how literature orients us morally and spiritually during times of great change. As a professional writer, she has reported with Reuters in Brazil, edited The Oxonian Review, and taught creative writing classes at Oxford. Her work has been published in outlets including The New York Times, The Nation, Kenyon Review, The London Magazine, and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
