State College, Pennsylvania, United States
Joey Feffer, from State College, Pennsylvania, is pursuing a PhD at Stanford Graduate School of Business with a focus in economic analysis and policy. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, concentrating in mathematics with a secondary in film and visual studies. He is interested in the economics of communication, persuasion, and social influence—aiming to understand how small-scale interactions affect large-scale phenomena like voting behavior, union formation, and consumer welfare. As an undergraduate, he was engaged in community organizing efforts in Boston, serving as a preorientation leader for Harvard’s First-Year Urban Program and an advocacy director for HOPE, a Harvard prison abolition group. On campus, he advocated for minority and first-generation students as a member of the Harvard SEAS Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. He also enjoyed building community in his residential dorm as a peer advisor, intramural captain, and dorm committee member.
