John J. Cho, from Alexandria, Kentucky, is pursuing a PhD in political economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a JD at Stanford Law School. He graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in quantitative social sciences and high honors in government, and he was named a Stamps Scholar. Before arriving at Stanford, he was a predoctoral fellow at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University, where he co-authored papers on various topics in political behavior with Professors Gregory Huber and Alan Gerber. John is interested in exploring questions at the intersection of election law and ethnic minority political representation in the United States. Previously, he helped conduct election litigation, enforcing the Voting Rights Act as a voting section intern for the Department of Justice, and also worked to garner immigration benefits for survivors of domestic violence as an immigration legal intern at Ayuda.
