Joshua Dimasaka

Joshua Dimasaka is pursuing a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering with a focus on structures, sustainable design, and construction at Stanford School of Engineering, and a master's degree in public policy at Stanford Graduate School of Humanities and Sciences. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Joshua aspires to improve the urban infrastructure resilience of developing countries like the Philippines, which has been very vulnerable to natural disasters in recent years. He was a recipient of the 2018 BPI-DOST Science Award, 2017 3rd Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Student National Award of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc., and Department of Science and Technology and Ramar Scholarship Foundation, Inc. scholarships. In 2018, he also co-founded a youth-led nonprofit Project iQ (Initiatives of Quesadians), which promotes inclusive education and youth empowerment for indigent students of the Paete community.
