Judith Goldstein

Judith Goldstein is the Janet M. Peck Professor of International Communication, Professor of Political Science and senior fellow at the Stanford Center for Economic Policy. Goldstein has a BA in political science and Near Eastern Languages from University of California, Berkeley, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and a MA and Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA. Goldstein has written and/or edited six books and numerous articles, many of which center on issues of globalization, international law and the World Trade organization. Her current research focuses on the rise of populism and how popular dissent influences the trade regime. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, served as chair of the Department of Political Science from 2013-2020 and was the chair of the faculty senate during the 2020-21 academic year.
