Julian Garcia

Julian Garcia, from Tulare, California, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology. Julian aims to use his law degree to further policy focused on addressing social and economic injustice, including reform of the U.S. immigration system. He previously served as a legislative staffer for U.S. Senator Alex Padilla, working to advance legislation that would improve communities like his own in the Central Valley of California, such as by designating federal representation for farmworkers and robustly increasing federal housing investments. For the past two years, he has worked as a senior policy advisor to U.S. Representative Juan Vargas, leading efforts to hold the government accountable for racially profiling Latinos in immigration enforcement and to safeguard sensitive data of immigrant families.
