Kat Hu

Kat Hu, born in Chengdu, China, and raised in Toronto, Canada, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. She has led artificial intelligence initiatives and strategic projects at Turing, a series D startup. Prior to that, she worked at One Acre Fund, where she scaled last-mile logistics for farmers in Kenya. Kat started her career in management consulting at McKinsey in San Francisco. She was a One Young World social impact ambassador for her initiatives on homelessness and women empowerment. While at UIUC, she was a Yenching Social Innovation Forum delegate and received the Illinois Innovation Award for building Dibbs, a platform to redistribute excess food. Kat aspires to build technology companies that create positive, scaled change for underserved communities around the world with a focus on employment.
