Rina Grossel Bogdanovic

Rina Grossel Bogdanovic, from Dubrovnik, Croatia, is pursuing a master’s degree in design at Stanford School of Engineering. She earned a bachelor’s degree in medical biosciences from Imperial College London. Rina aims to design medical technologies, drawing on interests in disease modeling, bioinspired materials, and the systems that shape how care is delivered. Before Stanford, she conducted research in immunology, cancer, and stem cell biology, and worked on a machine learning project focused on automating clinical trial prescreening. She also launched the first podcast dedicated to glycobiology and its potential as a source of prognostic biomarkers, and co-led a project in rural Rwanda to reduce childhood malnutrition. Rina is health executive at Sigma Squared Society, supporting more than 150 healthtech founders across 35 countries. She co-founded Proximo Ventures, an investor community focused on addressing the translational gap in deep-tech emerging from the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London.
