Luka Radosavljevic, from Johannesburg, South Africa, is pursuing a master’s degree in materials science and engineering at Stanford School of Engineering and a master's degree in environment and resources in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. He received an associate’s degree from Cañada College in engineering before transferring to Cornell University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering. Luka aspires to build an impactful career in renewable energy. He is particularly passionate about solar power and the potential that it has in bringing cheap, clean power to South Africa and other developing countries while mitigating global reliance on fossil fuels. In his role as a student representative at his community college, Luka met with three US representatives to discuss America’s college promise, DACA, and student loan reform in Washington D.C. At Cornell, Luka pursued research on the molecular beam epitaxy growth and characterization of various thin film semiconductor materials and was president of the Cornell Materials Society.
