Lukas (Luke) Allard, from Lewisport, Kentucky, is pursuing joint master’s degrees, one in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the other in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in control systems engineering and received a master’s degree in robotics from the University of Pennsylvania. Lukas aims to build nontraditional data collection systems to help rural industries capitalize on AI advancements, and he is interested in exploring Internet of Things networks applied to agriculture and manufacturing. As an intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, he led platoons that conducted anti-terrorism and great-power-competition missions across the Indo-Pacific region. Most recently, he led teams at the MITRE Corporation that built AI tools to help U.S. Space Command deter international aggression in outer space. For his national security efforts, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
