Mariana De Leon Dominguez, from Santa Maria, California, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in history and literature and the comparative study of religion. Mariana aspires to use her legal degree to ensure that immigrant legal rights are protected, and to work toward creating a more equitable and holistic immigration legal system. Mariana served as a Harvard Elliot and Anne Richardson fellow and a Priscilla Chan Stride fellow in public service at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, where she helped unaccompanied minors and undocumented immigrants apply for legal relief. As an undergraduate, Mariana received the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies Prize for a senior thesis of high distinction in the field of Latin America and the John B. Imrie Memorial Award.
