Marzan Hamid, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Toronto, Canada, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business and an MD at the School of Medicine. She graduated with a bachelor of health sciences from McMaster University. Marzan aspires to strengthen public health infrastructure and design resilient healthcare systems that prioritize equity. At McMaster, she co-founded the university’s first student-run public health journal and conducted community-engaged research. She also worked at a national think tank on economic policy and supported a community clinic in creating health equity programming. Her research focuses on equitable access to kidney transplantation, care coordination, and healthcare quality improvement. Marzan is passionate about education and has taught several undergraduate and medical school courses, including leading the development of a health equity seminar in medical school. She is the recipient of a National TD Scholarship in Community Leadership, REACH MD/MS Scholarship for Health Equity, and Stanford Graduate Public Service Fellowship.
