Mateus Costa, from Brasilia, Brazil, is pursuing an MBA degree at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He earned a bachelor of laws degree from University of Brasilia and a master of laws degree from Harvard Law School. As an attorney, he argued and won two cases before Brazil’s Supreme Court and later joined Milbank, advising Brazilian companies fundraising from U.S. investors. Mateus was the youngest individual to attend university in Brazil, at age 14, and was profiled by The Wall Street Journal as one of the youngest people, at just 20, to pass the New York bar exam. He hopes to continue his entrepreneurial endeavors, which have included founding a successful edtech joint venture with Brazil’s leading bar exam prep school and helping scale fintech Quansa from ground zero to thousands of users in Brazil and Chile.
