Mikaela Gerwin

Mikaela Gerwin, from New York City, New York, is pursuing a JD from Stanford Law School and a master’s degree in history from the School of Humanities and Sciences. She graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in history and a certificate in global health and health policy. After Princeton, Mikaela received a master’s degree in history and philosophy of science and medicine from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. For more than three years, Mikaela served in the federal government with roles at the White House (the Domestic Policy Council), the Department of the Treasury (the IRS), and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In these positions, she worked to bolster economic mobility by improving access to health insurance, food benefits, tax credits, and housing. Mikaela aspires to use her law and history degrees to bring deep historical approaches to policymaking.
