Mohammed Memfis, from Atlanta, Georgia, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. He graduated from Williams College with an honors BA in environmental studies and political science. While an undergraduate, he chaired a municipal government committee, founded a county-wide CourtWatch program, and completed three research fellowships. After graduating, he advanced federal environmental regulations and legislation while working at Waxman Strategies. He was also awarded a fellowship to the University of Cambridge which he used to complete an MPhil in Anthropocene studies. He currently focuses on climate accountability law and policy and community-based power-building and strategic organizing at the Rockefeller Family Fund. Mohammed is a Udall scholar and earned top prizes for his oratory skills and for his work in the political science and environmental studies departments. He plans to contribute to a more resilient and just democracy and environment.
